There is a good chance that if you’ve found this page then you’re playing the Immaculate Grid.
That also means that today’s grid has asked for players that have played for both the Los Angeles Angels and the Seattle Mariners.
And, it also means that you’re probably stuck on this particular box and you’re looking for a little help. Sound about right so far?
Well, good news, you’re in the right place.
I’ve done some research and have found players who played for both the Angels and the Mariners.
Chone Figgins
Chone Figgins had a 12-year career in Major League Baseball as a versatile utility player. He was known for his speed, agility, and ability to play multiple positions with proficiency.
Figgins made his MLB debut with the Anaheim Angels in 2002 and played with the team through 2009. His best season came in 2009 when he had a batting average of .298, stole 42 bases, and scored 114 runs. This performance led to his only All-Star selection.
Following his time with the Angels, Figgins played for the Seattle Mariners from 2010 to 2012 and finished his career with a brief stint on the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2014. Over the course of his career, Figgins stole an impressive 341 bases.

Rickey Henderson
Rickey Henderson was one of my favorite baseball players growing up. In fact, somewhere in a closet, I have a baseball card binder with over 150 Rickey Henderson baseball cards.
Most of us probably remember Henderson as an Oakland A, back in the late 80s playing on the same A’s teams as the Bash Brothers.
But, he played for an incredible 25 years in the majors and played on 9 different teams during that span.
Rickey played 14 years with the A’s, but he also played for the New York Yankees, San Diego Padres, New York Mets, Boston Red Sox, LA Dodgers, Anaheim Angels, Seattle Mariners and Toronto Blue Jays.
So, not only is he an acceptable answer for a player who played for both the Angels and the Mariners, but Rickey Henderson is a very versatile Immaculate Grid answer that you can use quite often.
In fact, he also had over 1400 career stolen bases, over 2200 runs and over 3000 hits (all of which could appear as possible categories).
Justin Upton
Justin Upton, who played 16 years in the majors, is most recognized for his time as an outfielder with the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Los Angeles Angels.
Upton had an impressive career, with over 1700 hits, 325 home runs, and a .261 career batting average.
He was a four-time All-Star (Diamondbacks, Padres, Tigers) and was awarded a Silver Slugger in 2011 and 2014 (Diamondbacks, Tigers/Angels). His best season might have been 2011 when he hit .289 with 31 home runs, 88 RBIs, and 21 stolen bases.
Mark Trumbo
Mark Trumbo was selected by the Los Angeles Angels in the 18th round of the 2004 MLB Draft. He made his MLB debut with the Angels in 2010 and developed into a powerful slugger.
Trumbo’s breakout season came in 2012 when he hit 32 home runs with 95 RBIs and was named to his first All-Star Game. After stints with the Diamondbacks and Mariners, Trumbo joined the Orioles in 2016. That year, he led the MLB with 47 home runs and earned his second All-Star selection.
Over his career, Trumbo became known for his home run power, hitting 30 or more homers in three different seasons. However, he also faced injuries that hampered his career, particularly in the later years.
Trumbo Key Stats
- All-Star (Angels, Orioles)
- Silver Slugger (Orioles)
- 40+ Home Run Season (Orioles)
- 100+ RBI Season (Angels, Orioles)
Jason Vargas
Jason Vargas, a left-handed pitcher, enjoyed a lengthy career in the Major Leagues from 2005 to 2019. He played for six different teams but spent the majority of his time with the Seattle Mariners and Kansas City Royals.
Vargas had a career year in 2017 when he led the American League with 18 wins and earned an All-Star selection while with the Royals. His career statistics include a 99-99 win-loss record, a 4.29 ERA, and 1147 strikeouts.
Mark McLemore
Mark McLemore was a versatile player in Major League Baseball, adept at multiple positions, predominantly second base and outfield, over a career spanning from 1986 to 2004. He played for several teams including the California Angels, Texas Rangers, and Seattle Mariners.
McLemore was known for his speed and versatility, providing valuable contributions with his glove and on the base paths. Over his career, he posted a batting average of .259, scored 943 runs, and stole 272 bases.
His most productive seasons came with the Rangers and Mariners where his ability to play multiple positions and his speed were well-utilized. McLemore was a vital component of the Mariners team that won 116 games in 2001.
