Golfers, and athletes of all sports really, take pride in where they’re from. Whether it’s the state, city or area code – you always notice players wanting to rep their home area.
The whole Ryder Cup is basically built on the principle of competing and representing where you’re from.
Fans tend to do the same thing. It’s always more fun to pull for a player when they’re from your home state (or even your hometown).
With all that in mind, we went through the World Golf Rankings and pulled the home states (or countries) of every player in the top 200 (as of 5/19/23).
28 of the 50 states in the US have at least one player representing them in that top 200.
One of those 28 states is Massachusetts which has a lone representative in the top 200.
Here is the golfer from Massachusetts in the World Golf Rankings top 200 in the spring of 2023 including what town they’re from.

In addition to the current players from Massachusetts, we compiled a list of all players that have gone on to make it into the Golf Hall of Fame:
About the Players
Scott Stallings turned pro in 2007, but it wasn’t until 2010 that he made it to the PGA Tour.
Throughout his career, Stallings has claimed three victories on the PGA Tour: the 2011 Greenbrier Classic, the 2012 True South Classic, and the 2014 Farmers Insurance Open. The win at the Farmers Insurance Open was especially memorable, as it took place at Torrey Pines, one of the more challenging courses on the PGA Tour.
In addition to his victories, Stallings has posted several other top-10 finishes on the PGA Tour, highlighting his ability to compete at a high level. Known for his strong work ethic and dedication to fitness, Stallings continues to be a strong competitor on the PGA Tour.
