5 Football Players who Played for Bills and Rams

I’ve done some research and have found players who played on both the Bills and Rams.

Ryan Fitzpatrick

Ryan Fitzpatrick, nicknamed “Fitzmagic,” is a well-traveled quarterback known for his intelligence and grit. He was drafted in the 7th round by the St. Louis Rams in the 2005 NFL Draft.

Fitzpatrick is the first Harvard quarterback to ever start an NFL game. Over his career, he has played for several teams, including the Rams, Bengals, Bills, Titans, Texans, Jets, Buccaneers, Dolphins, and the Commanders. A consummate journeyman, Fitzpatrick has shown an ability to produce solid numbers, often surpassing initial expectations.

Fitzpatrick finished his career with 34,990 passing yards and 223 touchdowns with a career QBR of 82.3.

James Lofton

James Lofton had a distinguished NFL career from 1978 to 1993, primarily with the Green Bay Packers. He was a key player in Green Bay’s offense for almost a decade, earning seven Pro Bowl selections during his time with the team.

Lofton, known for his speed and deep-threat capability, finished his career with 764 receptions, 14,004 receiving yards and 75 touchdowns.

His career also included stints with the Los Angeles Raiders, the Buffalo Bills (where he helped lead the team to two Super Bowl appearances), the Los Angeles Rams, and the Philadelphia Eagles. After his playing career, he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2003.

Case Keenum

Case Keenum is perhaps best known as a Minnesota Viking where he led them to the NFC Championship game during the 2017 season. That season he threw for 3547 yards and 22 touchdowns, leading to an 11-3 record as a starter and a memorable playoff run, including the “Minneapolis Miracle” touchdown pass to Stefon Diggs.

Keenum began his career as an undrafted free agent with the Houston Texans in 2012. Despite his undrafted status, Keenum has managed to carve out a substantial career, including significant starting roles for the Rams, Vikings, Broncos, and Washington Football Team.

Over his career thus far, he’s passed for over 14,800 yards and 78 touchdowns.

Sammy Watkins

Sammy Watkins was drafted by the Buffalo Bills with the 4th overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. In his rookie season with the Bills, Watkins caught 65 passes for 982 yards and six touchdowns, showing promise as a dynamic offensive weapon.

In his second season, he managed to surpass 1,000 receiving yards, finishing with 1,047 yards and nine touchdowns on 60 receptions.

Watkins joined the Kansas City Chiefs for the 2018 season. He had a productive tenure with the Chiefs, playing a key role in their offensive unit that won Super Bowl LIV against the San Francisco 49ers. His clutch performances during the playoff run were particularly noteworthy.

Lawrence McCutcheon

Lawrence McCutcheon had a distinguished career as a running back in the NFL. He was selected by the Los Angeles Rams in the 3rd round of the 1972 NFL Draft after his college career at Colorado State University.

McCutcheon became a key player for the Rams and was instrumental in their offensive scheme throughout the 1970s. He quickly developed into one of the most reliable rushers in the league, earning five Pro Bowl selections during his tenure with the Rams.

After his stint with the Rams, McCutcheon had brief stints with the Denver Broncos, Seattle Seahawks and Buffalo Bills before retiring.
