There is a good chance that if you’ve found this page then you’re playing the Immaculate Grid.

That also means that today’s grid has asked for players that have played for both the Detroit Lions and Dallas Cowboys.

And, it also means that you’re probably stuck on this particular box and you’re looking for a little help. Sound about right so far?

Well, good news, you’re in the right place.

I’ve done some research and have found players who played for both the Lions and Cowboys.

Roy Williams

Roy Williams played for the Detroit Lions, Dallas Cowboys, and Chicago Bears from 2004 to 2011. The Detroit Lions picked him 7th overall in the 2004 NFL Draft out of the University of Texas.

With the Lions, he achieved Pro Bowl status in 2006, having a standout season with 1310 receiving yards and seven touchdowns – making the Pro Bowl that year.

He was traded to the Dallas Cowboys in 2008, but he never quite replicated his success in Detroit. He finished his career with the Chicago Bears in 2011, retiring with career totals of 5715 receiving yards and 44 touchdowns.

Jon Kitna

Jon Kitna played in the NFL for 14 seasons. Kitna played college football at Central Washington University and was undrafted in the 1996 NFL Draft.

He was initially signed by the Seattle Seahawks where he served as the backup, later becoming the starter in 1999. During that season, he passed for 3346 yards and 23 touchdowns.

He then signed with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2001 where he started for three seasons. He played for the Detroit Lions from 2006 to 2008, where he had two seasons passing for over 4,000 yards.

Rodney Peete

Rodney Peete is a former quarterback who had a long career in the NFL. He was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the 6th round of the 1989 NFL Draft.

Peete played for the Lions from 1989 to 1993 and would go on to play for several other NFL teams including the Cowboys, Eagles, Redskins, Raiders, and Panthers. Over the course of his career, Peete threw for more than 16,000 yards and 76 touchdowns.

While he never made it to a Pro Bowl, Peete was a reliable starter for several years, particularly during his time with the Lions. His longevity in the league is a rarity for a player who was not a high draft pick.

Matt Cassel

Quarterback Matt Cassel had a significant 14-year NFL career from 2005 to 2018, the pinnacle of which came as he filled in for an injured Tom Brady in 2008 and led the New England Patriots to an 11-5 season.

Cassel, a seventh-round draft pick, went on to have a Pro Bowl season with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2010, throwing for 3116 yards and 27 touchdowns.

Throughout his career, he played for various teams (7 in total) and was often brought in as a solid backup option. Cassel accumulated over 17,500 passing yards and 104 touchdowns in his career, showing durability and readiness when called upon.
