I’ve already done the research and have put together a list of well-known stars along with some more “under-the-radar” players that could land you a low rarity score.

Bill Guerin

Bill Guerin was selected 5th overall by the New Jersey Devils in the 1989 NHL Entry Draft. He became an instrumental player for the Devils, and his time there culminated in a Stanley Cup championship in 1995.

His NHL journey took him to several teams, including the Edmonton Oilers, Boston Bruins, Dallas Stars, St. Louis Blues, San Jose Sharks, New York Islanders, and the Pittsburgh Penguins. With the Penguins in 2009, Guerin added a second Stanley Cup to his list of achievements.

Internationally, Guerin represented the United States multiple times, most notably during the Winter Olympics. He was part of the team that secured the silver medal at the 2002 Salt Lake City Games.

Zach Parise

Zach Parise is an American-born player known for his scoring ability and leadership on and off the ice. He was drafted 17th overall by the New Jersey Devils in the 2003 NHL Draft.

Parise enjoyed considerable success with the Devils, where he spent the early part of his career. His best season with the team came in the 2008-2009 season when he recorded an impressive 94 points. In 2012, he helped lead the Devils to the Stanley Cup Finals, although they fell short to the Los Angeles Kings.

In 2012, Parise signed a substantial contract with the Minnesota Wild, a move that was much talked about due to the size and length of the contract. During his time with the Wild, Parise continued to be a consistent offensive contributor, displaying his goal-scoring prowess and work ethic year after year.

Kyle Palmieri

Kyle Palmieri is an American player known for his goal-scoring ability and work ethic on the ice. He was drafted 26th overall by the Anaheim Ducks in the 2009 NHL Draft. He began his NHL career with the Ducks, and over the years, he developed into a reliable forward, showcasing his scoring touch and physical play.

In 2015, Palmieri was traded to the New Jersey Devils, where his career flourished as he became one of the team’s primary offensive weapons. During his time with the Devils, Palmieri had several seasons where he scored more than 20 goals, with his peak coming in the 2015-2016 season when he netted 30 goals.

In 2021, ahead of the trade deadline, Palmieri was traded alongside Travis Zajac to the New York Islanders, a move aimed at bolstering the Islanders’ offensive depth for a deep playoff run. Following the trade, Palmieri demonstrated his playoff prowess by scoring important goals during the Islanders’ 2021 playoff campaign.

Jim Dowd

Jim Dowd, an American former center, had a remarkable 17-season NHL career, playing for ten different teams. He made history by becoming the first New Jersey native to play for the New Jersey Devils, with whom he debuted in the 1991-92 season after a successful college career.

Dowd’s tenure with the Devils was highlighted by scoring the game-winning goal in Game 2 of the 1995 Stanley Cup Finals, helping them secure their first championship​​.

After leaving the Devils, Jim Dowd played for a series of NHL teams, including the Whalers, Canucks, Islanders, Flames, Predators, Oilers, Wild, Canadiens, Blackhawks, and Avalanche. His career was marked by various trades and signings, with significant playing time at the Oilers and nearly four seasons with the Wild.

Victor Kozlov

Viktor Kozlov is a retired Russian center and current coach. He was drafted by the San Jose Sharks in the first round, sixth overall, in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft. He played for the Sharks until 1997, when he was traded to the Panthers, where he had his most successful years, achieving career highs in assists and points during the 1999–2000 season​​​​.

Kozlov joined the New York Islanders as a free agent in 2006. In 2007, he signed with the Capitals and scored his first playoff goal for the team in 2009. His NHL career concluded with a three-year contract with Salavat Yulaev Ufa in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) in June 2009.

Kozlov retired from playing hockey in September 2015, joining Metallurg Magnitogorsk as an assistant coach. His NHL career totals include 897 games, with 198 goals, 339 assists, and 537 points​​​​.
