I’ve already done the research and have put together a list of well-known stars along with some more “under-the-radar” players that could land you a low rarity score.
Jonathan Marchessault
Jonathan Marchessault is a Canadian forward currently playing for the Vegas Golden Knights in the NHL. He was not selected in any NHL Entry Draft and signed his first professional contract with the AHL’s Connecticut Whale in 2011. Over his career, he has played for the Columbus Blue Jackets, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Florida Panthers.
Marchessault was selected by the Golden Knights in the 2017 NHL Expansion Draft and played a pivotal role in their success, including helping them reach the Stanley Cup Finals in their inaugural season. His outstanding playoff performance included scoring critical goals and earning the Conn Smythe Trophy as the most valuable player.
His career statistics (as of this writing) include 556 NHL regular season games, with 188 goals, 230 assists, and a total of 418 points.

Reilly Smith
Reilly Smith is a Canadian right winger currently playing for the Pittsburgh Penguins. He was selected in the third round, 69th overall, by the Dallas Stars in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. Smith’s pro career began with the Stars in 2012, and he was soon part of a significant trade to the Boston Bruins.
His journey through the NHL also included stints with the Florida Panthers and the Vegas Golden Knights, with whom he won the Stanley Cup in 2023, scoring the Cup-clinching goal in Game 5.
His career statistics in the NHL (as of this writing) include 200 goals and 273 assists in 764 regular season games, along with 26 goals and 53 assists in 106 playoff games.

Erik Haula
Erik Haula is a Finnish forward currently playing for the New Jersey Devils in the NHL. He was selected by the Minnesota Wild in the seventh round, 182nd overall, in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. Before joining the NHL, Haula played at the University of Minnesota, where he had an impressive college hockey career.
Haula signed an entry-level contract with the Wild in 2013 and made his NHL debut in the 2013-14 season, where he also scored his first NHL goal. He played for the Wild until 2017 when he was selected by the Vegas Golden Knights in the NHL Expansion Draft. Haula had a career-high 29 goals for 55 points in the 2017-18 season with the Golden Knights.
Haula has also played for the Carolina Hurricanes, Florida Panthers, Nashville Predators, and Boston Bruins. In July 2022, Haula was traded to the New Jersey Devils, where he later signed a three-year extension.
