Sergei Fedorov is one of the most successful Russian players to ever play in the NHL. He was drafted 74th overall by the Detroit Red Wings in the 1989 NHL Draft. Fedorov quickly made an impact, earning the Calder Memorial Trophy as Rookie of the Year in 1991.
During his time in Detroit, he won three Stanley Cup championships and collected numerous individual awards, including two Selke Trophies and a Hart Memorial Trophy as the league’s MVP.
After his significant success with the Red Wings, Fedorov played for several other NHL teams including the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Washington Capitals.
