Joel Ward
Joel Ward is a retired Canadian right winger. He played in the NHL for the Minnesota Wild, Nashville Predators, Washington Capitals, and San Jose Sharks. After an impressive collegiate career, Ward was invited to the Minnesota Wild’s training camp in 2006 and began his pro journey with their AHL affiliate, the Houston Aeros.
Ward signed with the Nashville Predators in 2008 and scored his first NHL goal in his first game with them. His first full NHL season in 2008–09 was solid, scoring 17 goals in 79 games. Ward then signed a four-year contract with the Capitals in 2011, where he scored a memorable game-winning goal in the 2012 Stanley Cup playoffs.
In 2015, he signed with the San Jose Sharks on a three-year contract. His NHL career totals include 726 games played, with 133 goals, 171 assists, and 304 points.
Victor Kozlov
Viktor Kozlov is a retired Russian center and current coach. He was drafted by the San Jose Sharks in the first round, sixth overall, in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft. He played for the Sharks until 1997, when he was traded to the Panthers, where he had his most successful years, achieving career highs in assists and points during the 1999–2000 season.
Kozlov joined the New York Islanders as a free agent in 2006. In 2007, he signed with the Capitals and scored his first playoff goal for the team in 2009. His NHL career concluded with a three-year contract with Salavat Yulaev Ufa in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) in June 2009.
Kozlov retired from playing hockey in September 2015, joining Metallurg Magnitogorsk as an assistant coach. His NHL career totals include 897 games, with 198 goals, 339 assists, and 537 points.
