I’ve already done the research and have put together a list of well-known stars along with some more “under-the-radar” players that could land you a low rarity score.
Ryan Dzingel
Ryan Dzingel was selected in the 7th round, 204th overall, by the Ottawa Senators in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. After a successful collegiate career at Ohio State University, he made his NHL debut with the Senators during the 2015-2016 season.
Over the next few years, Dzingel’s offensive production steadily increased, and he established himself as a reliable forward for Ottawa. However, the next few years of his career saw Dzingel changing zip codes quite often.
In 2019, he was traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets, and later that year, he signed as a free agent with the Carolina Hurricanes. After a stint with the Hurricanes, Dzingel returned to the Senators in 2021. He then made quick stops with the Coyotes and Sharks.
Mike Hoffman
Mike Hoffman was selected 130th overall by the Ottawa Senators in the 5th round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. Hoffman made his NHL debut with the Senators during the 2011-2012 season, but his true breakout came in the 2014-2015 season, where he emerged as a key offensive player.
Hoffman’s journey in the NHL saw him move from the Senators to the Florida Panthers, with a brief intermediary step involving a trade to the San Jose Sharks and then immediately to Florida in 2018.
His tenure with the Panthers continued to highlight his offensive prowess, making him a consistent scoring threat, especially on the power play. Hoffman later signed as a free agent with the St. Louis Blues, where he continued to demonstrate his scoring ability.
Dany Heatley
Dany Heatley is a Canadian-born winger. He was drafted second overall by the Atlanta Thrashers in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft and made his mark by winning the Calder Memorial Trophy as the NHL’s Rookie of the Year in 2002.
Heatley’s career with the Thrashers was marred by a tragic car crash in 2003, which resulted in the death of his teammate Dan Snyder and left Heatley seriously injured. Despite the setback, he returned to the ice and continued his career.
His time with the Senators was notable for reaching the 50-goal mark twice consecutively, a feat not achieved since Pavel Bure in 1999-2000. Over his NHL career, Heatley was selected for the NHL All-Star Game five times, playing in four of them. In his first All-Star Game appearance in 2003, he scored four goals and was named the All-Star Game MVP.

Chris Tierney
Chris Tierney is a Canadian center currently playing for the New Jersey Devils. He was drafted 55th overall by the San Jose Sharks in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. Tierney began his pro career in the 2014-15 season, making an immediate impact. He spent the full 2015-16 season with the Sharks, reaching the Stanley Cup Finals.
Tierney continued to play for the Sharks until the 2018-19 season, after which he was traded to the Ottawa Senators. During his tenure with the Senators, Tierney was a consistent performer, even leading the team in penalty killing time on ice during the 2017-18 season.
Over his NHL career to date, Tierney has played in 597 games, scoring 76 goals and 160 assists for a total of 236 points, along with 40 playoff appearances.
