Curt Schilling

Curt Schilling is perhaps most noted for his part in the Boston Red Sox’s first World Series win in 86 years in 2004 and his exceptional performances in high-stakes games. From 1988 to 2007, he played in the MLB with five teams, notably the Philadelphia Phillies and Boston Red Sox.

He ended his career with a 216-146 win-loss record, a 3.46 ERA, and an impressive 3116 strikeouts, ranking 15th highest all-time.

Schilling’s remarkable postseason career included three World Series championships (2001 with the Arizona Diamondbacks and 2004 & 2007 with the Boston Red Sox), and he earned the World Series MVP in 2001.

His most successful stint came with the Cardinals, where he played a crucial role in their 2006 World Series run, earning the NLCS MVP for his stellar performance.

Despite not being a big strikeout pitcher, Suppan was a dependable arm in the rotation, providing valuable innings for his teams over a lengthy career.

J.D. Martinez

J.D. Martinez is in his 13th year in the majors and is currently playing outfield and DH for the Dodgers.

Martinez is a 6x All-Star (Tigers, Red Sox, Dodgers) and has twice been awarded the Silver Slugger award (Tigers, Red Sox). He’s hit over 300 home runs thus far in his career and is quickly approaching 1000 RBIs.

Given his success and his recent time spent with various teams and it’s easy to see why Martinez will be a popular player for many different squares on the grid.

Bronson Arroyo

Bronson Arroyo had a 16-year career playing for several teams, most notably the Boston Red Sox and the Cincinnati Reds. Known for his high leg kick and a wide variety of pitches, Arroyo had a distinctive style on the mound that made him a fan favorite.

Arroyo played a pivotal role in the Boston Red Sox’s curse-breaking World Series win in 2004.

Following his stint in Boston, he became a staple of the Cincinnati Reds’ rotation, earning an All-Star nod in 2006. That year, he led the National League in innings pitched (240.2) and finished with a solid 3.29 ERA. In 2010, Arroyo won a Gold Glove with Cincinnati for his defensive efforts on the mound.

Vicente Padilla

Vicente Padilla, who played from 1999 to 2012, spent his career with several teams, including the Phillies, Rangers, Dodgers, Diamondbacks and Red Sox.

Known for his slider and unpredictable temperament, Padilla amassed over 100 wins and 1,000 strikeouts over his career. He had several strong seasons, particularly in 2002 when he won 14 games with the Phillies and earned his only All-Star appearance.
