Football Players who Played for Bengals and Buccaneers

I’ve done some research and have found players who played for both the Bengals and the Buccaneers.

Giovani Bernard

Giovani Bernard was drafted in the 2nd round, 37th overall, by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2013 NFL Draft.

In his time with the Bengals, Bernard showcased his dual-threat ability and became a valuable asset in the passing game. He then joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he added depth to the backfield.

Bernard’s career highlights (to date) include over 3,700 rushing yards and 22 rushing touchdowns, along with almost 3,000 receiving yards and 14 receiving touchdowns. His agility and ability to make defenders miss in the open field have made him a versatile weapon in the NFL.

James Brooks

James Brooks had an impressive NFL career as a running back, highlighted by his time with the Cincinnati Bengals from 1984 to 1991. Selected 24th overall in the 1981 NFL Draft by the San Diego Chargers, Brooks was eventually traded to Cincinnati where he truly shined.

He was known for his dual-threat ability as both a runner and receiver. In his career, Brooks recorded 7962 rushing yards and 49 rushing touchdowns, along with 3621 receiving yards and 30 receiving touchdowns.

Brooks was a 4-time Pro Bowl selection and helped lead the Bengals to Super Bowl XXIII, though they, unfortunately, lost to the San Francisco 49ers.

Ryan Fitzpatrick

Ryan Fitzpatrick, nicknamed “Fitzmagic,” is a well-traveled quarterback known for his intelligence and grit. He was drafted in the 7th round by the St. Louis Rams in the 2005 NFL Draft.

Fitzpatrick is the first Harvard quarterback to ever start an NFL game. Over his career, he has played for several teams, including the Rams, Bengals, Bills, Titans, Texans, Jets, Buccaneers, Dolphins, and the Commanders. A consummate journeyman, Fitzpatrick has shown an ability to produce solid numbers, often surpassing initial expectations.

Fitzpatrick finished his career with 34,990 passing yards and 223 touchdowns with a career QBR of 82.3.

Bruce Gradkowski

Bruce Gradkowski, a quarterback with a journeyman career in the NFL, played from 2006 to 2012.

Initially drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 6th round of the 2006 NFL Draft, Gradkowski also had stints with the Cleveland Browns, Oakland Raiders, Cincinnati Bengals, and Pittsburgh Steelers.

In 37 games over his career, Gradkowski threw for 4,057 yards with a completion percentage of 52.9%. He recorded 21 touchdowns and 24 interceptions.
