There is a good chance that if you’ve found this page then you’re playing the Immaculate Grid.

That also means that today’s grid has asked for players that have played for both the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and San Francisco 49ers.

And, it also means that you’re probably stuck on this particular box and you’re looking for a little help. Sound about right so far?

Well, good news, you’re in the right place.

I’ve done some research and have found players who played on both the Buccaneers and 49ers.

Richard Sherman

Richard Sherman, an influential cornerback in the NFL, spent the majority of his career with the Seattle Seahawks (2011-2017) and significantly contributed to their “Legion of Boom” defense.

Sherman was a key part of the Seahawks team that won Super Bowl XLVIII. He led the NFL in interceptions in 2013 and is a three-time first-team All-Pro selection.

He later played for the San Francisco 49ers (2018-2020), helping them reach Super Bowl LIV. Sherman’s career to date is marked by his aggressive playstyle, intelligence on the field, and outspoken nature.

Sherman Key Stats

  • 1st Team All-Pro (Seahawks)
  • Pro Bowl (Seahawks, 49ers)
  • Super Bowl Winner (Seahawks)

Jeff Garcia

Jeff Garcia carved out a notable career in the NFL (and also excelled in the Canadian Football League (CFL)). Starting his professional career in the CFL with the Calgary Stampeders, he won the Grey Cup in 1998.

Garcia then moved to the NFL, spending the most significant part of his career with the San Francisco 49ers (1999–2003), where he earned Pro Bowl honors three times.

Known for his scrambling ability and toughness, Garcia passed for 25,537 yards and 161 touchdowns in the NFL. Despite stints with four other NFL teams, he’s most remembered for his time with the 49ers.

Garcia Key Stats

  • Pro Bowl (49ers, Buccaneers)
  • 3000+ Yard Passing Season (49ers)

Trent Dilfer

Trent Dilfer played in the NFL from 1994 to 2007, most well-known as a quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Baltimore Ravens. Dilfer earned a Super Bowl ring with the Ravens in Super Bowl XXXV after the 2000 season, becoming the first quarterback to win a Super Bowl after being signed as a free agent.

Over his career, he threw for more than 20500 yards, with 113 touchdown passes and 129 interceptions.

Dilfer also played for the Seattle Seahawks, Cleveland Browns, and San Francisco 49ers, before transitioning to a broadcasting career with ESPN post-retirement.

Dilfer Key Stats

  • Pro Bowl (Buccaneers)
  • Super Bowl Winner (Ravens)

Steve DeBerg

Steve DeBerg was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the 10th round of the 1977 NFL Draft, 275th overall. He played for several teams over a lengthy career that spanned 21 years, including stints with the San Francisco 49ers, Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Atlanta Falcons.

DeBerg’s NFL career totals include 34,241 passing yards and 196 touchdown passes. He completed 2,874 of his 5,024 passing attempts, leading to a 57.2% completion rate. He also threw 204 interceptions.

One of the highlights of DeBerg’s career was his ability to continue playing at a high level despite his age. He started games in three different decades, and he became (at the time) the oldest player to start at quarterback in an NFL game at the age of 44 years and 279 days.

DeBerg Key Stats

  • 3000+ Passing Yard Season (49ers, Chiefs)

Blaine Gabbert

Blaine Gabbert was drafted in the first round, 10th overall, by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2011 NFL Draft. Gabbert’s time with the Jaguars was short-lived (and largely unsuccessful), and he was traded to the 49ers in 2014. He’s also played for the Cardinals, Buccaneers and Titans.

While Gabbert has not received any major individual awards or Pro Bowl selections, he does have the distinction of being a part of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Super Bowl LV championship team, serving as the backup to Tom Brady.

Though largely seen as a journeyman backup quarterback, Gabbert has found ways to contribute when called upon and has carved out a lengthy career in that role. His career stats are modest, but he has managed to sustain a long career in the NFL, which is a feat in itself.
