There is a good chance that if you’ve found this page then you’re playing the Immaculate Grid.
That also means that today’s grid has asked for players that have played for both the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers.
And, it also means that you’re probably stuck on this particular box and you’re looking for a little help. Sound about right so far?
Well, good news, you’re in the right place.
I’ve done some research and have found players who played on both the Chiefs and 49ers.
Joe Montana
Joe Montana, also known as “Joe Cool” and “The Comeback Kid”, is widely regarded as one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history. After being drafted in the third round of the 1979 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers, Montana went on to play 16 seasons in the NFL, 14 with the 49ers and two with the Kansas City Chiefs.
He led the 49ers to four Super Bowl victories and was named Super Bowl MVP three times. Montana also earned eight Pro Bowl selections, three First-Team All-Pro selections, and two NFL MVP awards.
He ended his career with 273 touchdown passes, 40,551 passing yards, and a passer rating of 92.3. Montana was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2000.

Alex Smith
Alex Smith was the 1st overall pick in the 2005 NFL Draft by the 49ers and spent his first eight seasons with them. His tenure with the 49ers was marked by multiple coaching changes and offensive schemes, but he reached his potential after Jim Harbaugh became head coach in 2011.
Smith was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs in 2013, where he experienced a career resurgence under head coach Andy Reid. He led the Chiefs to multiple playoff appearances and was named to the Pro Bowl three times.
In 2018, Smith was traded to the Washington Football Team. However, his time in Washington was marked by a devastating leg injury that nearly ended his career. After a remarkable recovery, Smith returned to the field in 2020 and was named NFL Comeback Player of the Year. He retired following the 2020 season.

Steve DeBerg
Steve DeBerg was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the 10th round of the 1977 NFL Draft, 275th overall. He played for several teams over a lengthy career that spanned 21 years, including stints with the San Francisco 49ers, Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Atlanta Falcons.
DeBerg’s NFL career totals include 34,241 passing yards and 196 touchdown passes. He completed 2,874 of his 5,024 passing attempts, leading to a 57.2% completion rate. He also threw 204 interceptions.
One of the highlights of DeBerg’s career was his ability to continue playing at a high level despite his age. He started games in three different decades, and he became (at the time) the oldest player to start at quarterback in an NFL game at the age of 44 years and 279 days.

Steve Bono
Steve Bono is probably best remembered for his time with the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs. However, Bono spent 15 years in the NFL playing for seven different teams: the Vikings, Steelers, 49ers, Chiefs, Packers, Rams, and Panthers.
After being selected in the sixth round of the 1985 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings, Bono had the opportunity to work with some of the best coaches and players in the league. For example, he joined the San Francisco 49ers in 1989, where he had the chance to learn from Hall of Fame QBs Joe Montana and Steve Young.
In 1995, Bono became the starting quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs. That year, he led the Chiefs to a 13-3 record and a first-place finish in the AFC West. His performance earned him a spot in the Pro Bowl.
