Football Players who Played for Jaguars and Texans

And, it also means that you’re probably stuck on this particular box and you’re looking for a little help. Sound about right so far?

Well, good news, you’re in the right place.

I’ve done some research and have found players who played on both the Jaguars and Texans.

Aaron Glenn

Aaron Glenn played for several teams over a career that spanned 15 seasons. However, Glenn is probably best known for his time with the New York Jets, the team that drafted him in the first round (12th overall) of the 1994 NFL Draft.

During his time with the Jets from 1994 to 2001, Glenn made his mark as a reliable cornerback, earning Pro Bowl honors in 1997 and 1998. His impressive play continued after he was selected by the Houston Texans in the 2002 expansion draft. Glenn received another Pro Bowl selection in 2002 while with the Texans.

Following his stint with the Texans, Glenn had shorter spells with the Cowboys, Jaguars, and Saints before retiring after the 2008 season. Throughout his career, Glenn was respected for his cover skills and ability to intercept passes, finishing his career with 41 interceptions.

Carlos Hyde

Carlos Hyde was drafted in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers. He played for the 49ers from 2014 to 2017 before joining a series of other teams. Over his career, he played for the Browns, Jaguars, Texans, Seahawks, and Chiefs.

Hyde’s career has been that of a journeyman running back, moving from team to team but generally offering reliable production when given the opportunity. While with the 49ers, he rushed for almost 1,000 yards in the 2016 season.

A few years later with the Houston Texans in 2019, he surpassed 1,000 rushing yards for the first time in his career, finishing the season with 1,070 yards and six touchdowns.

Matt Turk

Matt Turk had a lengthy and successful career as a punter in the NFL. He entered the league in 1995 and went on to play for several teams throughout his career, including the Washington Redskins, Miami Dolphins, New York Jets, St. Louis Rams, Houston Texans, and Jacksonville Jaguars.

Turk’s career achievements include being selected as a 1st-Team All Pro in 1996 as a member of the Redskins (now the Commanders) along with 3 Pro Bowl nods. He was known for his strong leg and ability to pin opposing teams deep in their own territory.

Additionally, Matt Turk was part of the Houston Texans’ inaugural season in 2002 and played a significant role in the team’s early years. He retired from the NFL in 2012 after a career that spanned 17 seasons, making him one of the NFL’s longest-tenured punters.

Jason Babin

Jason Babin was selected by the Houston Texans in the first round of the 2004 NFL Draft, 27th overall. He was a defensive end who played for various teams over his 12-year NFL career, including stints with the Texans, Seattle Seahawks, Kansas City Chiefs, Tennessee Titans, Philadelphia Eagles, Jacksonville Jaguars, and New York Jets.

Babin’s career highlights include two Pro Bowl selections in 2010 and 2011. In the 2011 season with the Eagles, he had a remarkable year, recording 18 sacks and was named 2nd Team All-Pro. His final career stats include 374 total tackles, 64.5 sacks, and 14 forced fumbles.

Babin’s aggressive playing style and ability to pressure the quarterback made him a significant presence on the defensive line throughout his career.
