There is a good chance that if you’ve found this page then you’re playing the Immaculate Grid.

That also means that today’s grid has asked for players that have played for both the Houston Texans and Washington Commanders.

And, it also means that you’re probably stuck on this particular box and you’re looking for a little help. Sound about right so far?

Well, good news, you’re in the right place.

I’ve done some research and have found players who played on both the Texans and Commanders.

Case Keenum

Case Keenum is perhaps best known as a Minnesota Viking where he led them to the NFC Championship game during the 2017 season. That season he threw for 3547 yards and 22 touchdowns, leading to an 11-3 record as a starter and a memorable playoff run, including the “Minneapolis Miracle” touchdown pass to Stefon Diggs.

Keenum began his career as an undrafted free agent with the Houston Texans in 2012. Despite his undrafted status, Keenum has managed to carve out a substantial career, including significant starting roles for the Rams, Vikings, Broncos, and Washington Football Team.

Over his career thus far, he’s passed for over 14,800 yards and 78 touchdowns.

Ryan Fitzpatrick

Ryan Fitzpatrick, nicknamed “Fitzmagic,” is a well-traveled quarterback known for his intelligence and grit. He was drafted in the 7th round by the St. Louis Rams in the 2005 NFL Draft.

Fitzpatrick is the first Harvard quarterback to ever start an NFL game. Over his career, he has played for several teams, including the Rams, Bengals, Bills, Titans, Texans, Jets, Buccaneers, Dolphins, and the Commanders. A consummate journeyman, Fitzpatrick has shown an ability to produce solid numbers, often surpassing initial expectations.

Grossman’s most notable achievement came in the 2006 season when he led the Bears to Super Bowl XLI, although they ultimately lost to the Indianapolis Colts. That same season, he posted a career-high in passing yards with 3,193 and touchdowns with 23.

While his career was marked by inconsistency and injuries, Grossman managed to make a significant impact in the seasons where he was the starter. He finished his NFL career with 10,232 passing yards, 56 touchdowns, and 60 interceptions.

Matt Turk

Matt Turk had a lengthy and successful career as a punter in the NFL. He entered the league in 1995 and went on to play for several teams throughout his career, including the Washington Redskins, Miami Dolphins, New York Jets, St. Louis Rams, Houston Texans, and Jacksonville Jaguars.

Turk’s career achievements include being selected as a 1st-Team All Pro in 1996 as a member of the Redskins (now the Commanders) along with 3 Pro Bowl nods. He was known for his strong leg and ability to pin opposing teams deep in their own territory.

Additionally, Matt Turk was part of the Houston Texans’ inaugural season in 2002 and played a significant role in the team’s early years. He retired from the NFL in 2012 after a career that spanned 17 seasons, making him one of the NFL’s longest-tenured punters.

Kyle Allen

Kyle Allen entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2018. Despite going undrafted, he managed to make a name for himself relatively quickly. Allen signed with the Carolina Panthers and got his first real opportunity to start in the 2019 season when Cam Newton was sidelined with an injury.

He started off strong, but his performance waned as the season progressed. Allen was traded to the Washington Football Team (formerly known as the Washington Redskins) in 2020, reuniting him with his former coach Ron Rivera.

Over the course of his NFL career, Allen has shown flashes of promise but has been inconsistent at times. His stats aren’t particularly eye-popping, but he has proven to be a serviceable backup and spot starter in the league.
