Alexander Edler
Alexander Edler was selected in the third round, 91st overall, by the Vancouver Canucks in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
Edler developed into a top defenseman for the Canucks, playing both offensive and defensive roles. Over his career, he became one of the franchise’s all-time leaders in several statistical categories among defensemen.
Edler was a crucial part of their run to the Stanley Cup Finals in 2011, where they lost to the Boston Bruins. Edler has recorded multiple seasons with 30 or more points, showcasing his offensive talents from the back end.
Mathieu Schneider
Mathieu Schneider began his NHL journey after being drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in the third round of the 1987 NHL Entry Draft. He would go on to play for the Canadiens for several seasons, even being a part of their Stanley Cup-winning squad in 1993.
His NHL career spanned over two decades, during which he played for multiple teams (10 in total), including the Islanders, Maple Leafs, Rangers, Kings, Red Wings, Ducks, Thrashers, Canucks, and Coyotes.
Offensively skilled, Schneider often posted impressive point totals for a defenseman, culminating in over 700 points throughout his NHL career.
Pavol Demitra
Pavol Demitra’s NHL journey started when he was drafted by the Ottawa Senators in the ninth round of the 1993 NHL Entry Draft. Throughout his NHL tenure, he played for various teams, including the St. Louis Blues, Minnesota Wild, Los Angeles Kings, and Vancouver Canucks.
On the international front, Demitra proudly represented Slovakia in numerous tournaments. He played in various World Championships, helping his country secure a gold medal in 2002. Additionally, he represented Slovakia in three Olympic Winter Games.
Tragically, Pavol Demitra’s life was cut short in 2011 when he, along with several teammates from the Lokomotiv Yaroslavl hockey team, perished in a plane crash in Russia. He was 36 years old.

Tyler Toffoli
Tyler Toffoli was selected in the second round, 47th overall, by the Los Angeles Kings in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. Toffoli’s combination of scoring ability, hockey IQ, and work ethic have made him an important asset for the teams he’s played for, as well as a fan favorite.
Toffoli played for the Kings from 2012 to 2020, where he helped the team win the Stanley Cup in 2014. He was then traded to the Canucks during the 2019-2020 season before signing with the Canadiens in 2020. In his first season with the Canadiens, Toffoli was instrumental in the team’s surprising run to the Stanley Cup Finals.
He has developed a reputation as a consistent scorer and two-way player, contributing both offensively and defensively. Over his career, he has notched several 20+ goal seasons, including a career-high 34 goals in the 2022-23 season with Calgary.
Sean Burke
Sean Burke had a long and distinguished career as a goaltender in the NHL. Burke was drafted by the New Jersey Devils in the second round of the 1985 NHL Entry Draft.
He made his NHL debut during the 1987-1988 season with the Devils. Over the course of his career, he played for several NHL teams, including the New Jersey Devils, Hartford Whalers, Carolina Hurricanes, Vancouver Canucks, Philadelphia Flyers, Florida Panthers, Phoenix Coyotes, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Los Angeles Kings.

Anson Carter
Anson Carter is a former Canadian right winger. He was drafted by the Quebec Nordiques in the 1992 NHL Entry Draft, 220th overall in the 10th round. Carter started his pro career in the 1996–97 season, initially playing for the Washington Capitals and their AHL affiliate, the Portland Pirates, before being traded to the Boston Bruins in 1997.
Carter’s 10-year career included stops at 8 different teams. After several seasons with the Bruins, he was traded to the Edmonton Oilers, where he recorded career-highs in assists and points during his second season.
He was then traded to the New York Rangers in 2003, followed by a brief return to the Capitals and a subsequent trade to the LA Kings in 2004. In 2005, Carter signed with the Vancouver Canucks, leading the team in goals and earning the Canucks’ Most Exciting Player Award. He later played for the Blue Jackets and the Hurricanes.
Jussi Jokinen
Jussi Jokinen is a retired Finnish forward. Jokinen was selected by the Dallas Stars in the sixth round, 192nd overall, in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut in the 2005–06 season with the Stars and quickly gained a reputation as a top shootout specialist in the league.
Jokinen’s NHL career spanned over 13 seasons, during which he played for nine teams. After his tenure with the Dallas Stars, he played for the Lightning, Hurricanes, Penguins, Panthers, Oilers, Kings, Blue Jackets, and Canucks.
His most productive season came in 2013–14 with the Pittsburgh Penguins, where he scored 21 goals and totaled 57 points in 81 games. In the 2017–18 season, he became the fourth player in NHL history to play for four different teams in a single season.
Ben Hutton
Ben Hutton is a Canadian defenseman currently playing for the Vegas Golden Knights. Hutton’s journey to the NHL began with his selection by the Vancouver Canucks, 147th overall in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
Hutton’s pro career saw him start with the Canucks in 2015, moving on to play for the Los Angeles Kings, Anaheim Ducks, and Toronto Maple Leafs, before joining the Vegas Golden Knights. His career statistics in the NHL as of 2023 include 22 goals and 90 assists in 468 regular season games, and he has appeared in 2 playoff games.

Luke Schenn
Luke Schenn, a Canadian defenseman, has had a solid NHL career. He began his journey with the Toronto Maple Leafs, who selected him fifth overall in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. Schenn quickly made an impact, earning a spot on the NHL’s All-Rookie Team following his first season.
His time with the Maple Leafs lasted until 2012, when he was traded to the Flyers, giving him the unique opportunity to play alongside his younger brother, Brayden Schenn. Schenn’s career continued with several team changes including the Kings, Coyotes, Ducks, Canucks and Lightning (where he won back-to-back Stanley Cups in 2020 and 2021).
In the 2022-23 season, Schenn became the NHL’s all-time leader in hits by a defenseman. Despite his defensive prowess, he was traded back to the Toronto Maple Leafs before the trade deadline. Following this season, as a free agent, he signed a three-year contract with the Nashville Predators in July 2023, continuing his impactful NHL career.
