In 2017, Bellemare joined the inaugural team of the Vegas Golden Knights, contributing to their historic run to the Stanley Cup Finals. Following this, he moved to the Colorado Avalanche in 2019, continuing to showcase his defensive skills.

He signed with the Lightning in 2021 and has spent the last two seasons in Tampa Bay.

He was not selected in any NHL Entry Draft and signed his first professional contract with the AHL’s Connecticut Whale in 2011.
