Phil Housley
Phil Housley was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the first round of the 1982 NHL Entry Draft. Housley had an extensive career, playing for several teams including the Jets, Blues, Flames, Devils, Capitals, Blackhawks, and Maple Leafs. He is the second-leading scorer among American-born players with 1,232 points (338 goals and 894 assists).
Housley never won the Stanley Cup, coming closest with the Capitals in 1998 when they were swept in the Stanley Cup Finals by the Detroit Red Wings. At the time of his retirement, he had played more NHL games without winning the Stanley Cup than any other player in NHL history.
Housley was inducted into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame in 2004, the Buffalo Sabres Hall of Fame in 2007, and the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2015. His legacy in ice hockey, particularly his scoring prowess as a defenseman, has left a lasting impact on the sport.

Jason Allison
Jason Allison was drafted by the Washington Capitals in the first round of the 1993 NHL Entry Draft. Over the course of his NHL career, he played for several teams, including the Washington Capitals, Boston Bruins, Los Angeles Kings, and Toronto Maple Leafs.
One of his standout seasons came in 2000-2001 when he was a member of the Boston Bruins. He tallied an impressive 95 points (a combination of goals and assists) that season, solidifying his reputation as a skilled playmaker.
Throughout his career, Jason Allison was recognized for his ability to create scoring opportunities for his teammates and contribute on the power play.
Sylvain Cote
Sylvain Cote is a Canadian-born player who had an impressive 19-season career in the NHL. His journey in the NHL predominantly featured his time with the Washington Capitals, but he also played for the Hartford Whalers (now Hurricanes), Toronto Maple Leafs, Chicago Blackhawks, and Dallas Stars.
Cote was first selected by the Hartford Whalers in the first round (#11 overall) of the 1984 NHL Entry Draft and went on to become an influential defenseman. He was an all-star selection at the 1986 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships and was part of the Dallas team that reached the Stanley Cup Finals in 2000.
Over his career, Cote played 1,171 NHL games, scoring 122 goals and assisting in 313, totaling 435 points, along with accumulating 545 penalty minutes and 102 playoff games with 11 goals, 22 assists, and 33 points.
Peter Zezel
Peter Zezel was a skilled Canadian player, selected 41st overall by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 1983 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut at the age of 19, scoring 61 points and setting a Flyers’ rookie record with 46 assists. His early career was marked by offensive prowess, and he was instrumental in the Flyers reaching the Stanley Cup Finals.
Zezel later joined the St. Louis Blues, where he had some of his best seasons, including a career-high 49 assists and 70 points in the 1988-89 season. Zezel’s career trajectory shifted after being traded to the Capitals in 1990 and subsequently to the Maple Leafs. His role evolved to a defensive specialist, particularly in Toronto.
Throughout his NHL career, Zezel played in 873 games, scoring 219 goals and 388 assists, totaling 607 points. He is remembered for his strong faceoff skills and versatile playing style, adapting from an offensive player to a defensive specialist over his career.
Connor Brown
Connor Brown, a right winger, currently plays for the Edmonton Oilers. Brown was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the sixth round, 156th overall, in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. He made his full-time NHL debut with the Maple Leafs in the 2016–17 season and remained with the team for two more years before being traded to the Ottawa Senators.
With the Senators, he set the franchise record for consecutive games with a goal, scoring in seven straight games in 2021. After three seasons with the Senators, Brown was traded to the Washington Capitals in 2022, but his tenure was cut short due to an injury.
He then signed a one-year contract with the Edmonton Oilers for the 2023–24 season. As of now, his NHL career totals include 448 games played, with 90 goals, 126 assists, and 216 points.
