Dino Ciccarelli
Dino Ciccarelli was never drafted into the NHL, but he signed as a free agent with the Minnesota North Stars in 1980. Despite his undrafted status, Ciccarelli quickly made an impact in the league, becoming one of the premier goal-scorers of his era.
In his second season, Ciccarelli recorded 55 goals and 106 points, setting the stage for a successful career that included several seasons with 40 or more goals. He played with the North Stars (now Dallas), Washington Capitals, Detroit Red Wings, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Florida Panthers over 19 seasons in the NHL.
Ciccarelli’s career totals include 608 goals and 592 assists for 1,200 points. He also made his mark in the playoffs, with 73 goals and 45 assists in 141 postseason appearances. His goal-scoring ability and fierce competitiveness earned him a place in the Hockey Hall of Fame, with induction coming in 2010.

Jaromir Jagr
Jaromír Jagr was drafted 5th overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 1990 NHL Entry Draft, Jagr swiftly made an impression. Alongside center Mario Lemieux, Jagr played a pivotal role in back-to-back Stanley Cup championships for the Penguins in 1991 and 1992. His time with Pittsburgh also included multiple scoring titles and an MVP.
Jagr’s NHL journey included playing for several teams such as the Capitals, Rangers, Flyers, Stars, Bruins, Devils, Panthers, and Flames. Across these stints, his scoring touch and on-ice intelligence never waned. Jagr finished his career ranked second in NHL all-time points (1921), behind only Wayne Gretzky.
But Jagr’s contributions to the game extend beyond the NHL. He has been an essential figure for the Czech national team, securing a gold medal in the 1998 Winter Olympics and multiple World Championships.

Kevin Hatcher
Kevin Hatcher was drafted in the first round, 17th overall, by the Washington Capitals in the 1984 NHL Entry Draft.
Hatcher is best remembered for his time with the Washington Capitals, where he played from 1984 to 1993. During his time with the Capitals, he established himself as one of the league’s premier defensemen. He was known for his physical play, offensive contributions, and leadership on the ice.
Throughout his career, Kevin Hatcher also played for several other NHL teams, including the Dallas Stars, Pittsburgh Penguins, New York Rangers, and Carolina Hurricanes.

Braden Holtby
Braden Holtby is a Canadian goaltender, drafted 93rd overall by the Washington Capitals in the 2008 NHL Draft. Holtby quickly emerged as a top goaltender in the league, becoming the Capitals’ starting goaltender and playing a key role in their success.
He won the Vezina Trophy for the league’s best goaltender in the 2015-2016 season and was a vital part of the Capitals’ 2018 Stanley Cup championship, earning iconic status with his clutch saves throughout the playoffs.
After a decade with the Capitals, Holtby signed with the Vancouver Canucks for the 2020-2021 season. His stint in Vancouver was short-lived, and he moved to the Dallas Stars for the 2021-2022 season where he finished his career.

Cody Eakin
Cody Eakin is a Canadian forward currently playing with the SCL Tigers of the National League. He was drafted by the Washington Capitals in the third round, 85th overall, of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, after being selected in the first round, sixth overall, by the Swift Current Broncos in the 2006 WHL Draft.
Eakin began his NHL career with the Capitals’ AHL affiliate, the Hershey Bears, in the 2011–12 season, making his NHL debut in November 2011. Eakin was traded to the Dallas Stars in 2012 and scored his first career Stanley Cup playoff goal in 2014.
In the 2017 NHL Expansion Draft, he was selected by the Vegas Golden Knights. He was later traded to the Winnipeg Jets, his hometown team, in 2020, and then signed with the Buffalo Sabres as a free agent in the same year.
Peter Zezel
Peter Zezel was a skilled Canadian player, selected 41st overall by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 1983 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut at the age of 19, scoring 61 points and setting a Flyers’ rookie record with 46 assists. His early career was marked by offensive prowess, and he was instrumental in the Flyers reaching the Stanley Cup Finals.
Zezel later joined the St. Louis Blues, where he had some of his best seasons, including a career-high 49 assists and 70 points in the 1988-89 season. Zezel’s career trajectory shifted after being traded to the Capitals in 1990 and subsequently to the Maple Leafs. His role evolved to a defensive specialist, particularly in Toronto.
Throughout his NHL career, Zezel played in 873 games, scoring 219 goals and 388 assists, totaling 607 points. He is remembered for his strong faceoff skills and versatile playing style, adapting from an offensive player to a defensive specialist over his career.
Sylvain Cote
Sylvain Cote is a Canadian-born player who had an impressive 19-season career in the NHL. His journey in the NHL predominantly featured his time with the Washington Capitals, but he also played for the Hartford Whalers (now Hurricanes), Toronto Maple Leafs, Chicago Blackhawks, and Dallas Stars.
Cote was first selected by the Hartford Whalers in the first round (#11 overall) of the 1984 NHL Entry Draft and went on to become an influential defenseman. He was an all-star selection at the 1986 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships and was part of the Dallas team that reached the Stanley Cup Finals in 2000.
