Jaromir Jagr
Jaromír Jagr was drafted 5th overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 1990 NHL Entry Draft, Jagr swiftly made an impression. Alongside center Mario Lemieux, Jagr played a pivotal role in back-to-back Stanley Cup championships for the Penguins in 1991 and 1992. His time with Pittsburgh also included multiple scoring titles and an MVP.
Jagr’s NHL journey included playing for several teams such as the Capitals, Rangers, Flyers, Stars, Bruins, Devils, Panthers, and Flames. Across these stints, his scoring touch and on-ice intelligence never waned. Jagr finished his career ranked second in NHL all-time points (1921), behind only Wayne Gretzky.
But Jagr’s contributions to the game extend beyond the NHL. He has been an essential figure for the Czech national team, securing a gold medal in the 1998 Winter Olympics and multiple World Championships.

Bill Guerin
Bill Guerin was selected 5th overall by the New Jersey Devils in the 1989 NHL Entry Draft. He became an instrumental player for the Devils, and his time there culminated in a Stanley Cup championship in 1995.
His NHL journey took him to several teams, including the Edmonton Oilers, Boston Bruins, Dallas Stars, St. Louis Blues, San Jose Sharks, New York Islanders, and the Pittsburgh Penguins. With the Penguins in 2009, Guerin added a second Stanley Cup to his list of achievements.
Internationally, Guerin represented the United States multiple times, most notably during the Winter Olympics. He was part of the team that secured the silver medal at the 2002 Salt Lake City Games.

Johnny Oduya
Johnny Oduya was drafted 221st overall in the seventh round of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft by the Washington Capitals. A Swedish defenseman, Oduya had a 12-year NHL career, most notably with the Chicago Blackhawks.
With Chicago, he won the Stanley Cup twice, in the 2012–13 and 2014–15 seasons. Known for his skating ability and defensive skills, Oduya played a vital role in the Blackhawks’ championship teams.
Over his career, Oduya played in 850 regular-season NHL games, registering more than 40 goals and nearly 150 assists. He also represented Sweden in international competition, including winning a silver medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics.
Joe Nieuwendyk
Joe Nieuwendyk was selected by the Calgary Flames in the 2nd round of the 1985 NHL Entry Draft with the 27th overall pick. He played his collegiate hockey at Cornell University before embarking on an illustrious NHL career.
Over his 20-season NHL career, Nieuwendyk played for the Calgary Flames, Dallas Stars, New Jersey Devils, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Florida Panthers. He achieved great success, winning the Stanley Cup three times with three different teams: the Flames in 1989, the Stars in 1999, and the Devils in 2003.
Nieuwendyk was awarded the Calder Trophy as the league’s top rookie in 1987-88 and the Conn Smythe Trophy as the MVP of the playoffs in 1999. He finished his career with 564 goals and 562 assists for 1,126 points and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2011.

Peter Zezel
Peter Zezel was a skilled Canadian player, selected 41st overall by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 1983 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut at the age of 19, scoring 61 points and setting a Flyers’ rookie record with 46 assists. His early career was marked by offensive prowess, and he was instrumental in the Flyers reaching the Stanley Cup Finals.
Zezel later joined the St. Louis Blues, where he had some of his best seasons, including a career-high 49 assists and 70 points in the 1988-89 season. Zezel’s career trajectory shifted after being traded to the Capitals in 1990 and subsequently to the Maple Leafs. His role evolved to a defensive specialist, particularly in Toronto.
Throughout his NHL career, Zezel played in 873 games, scoring 219 goals and 388 assists, totaling 607 points. He is remembered for his strong faceoff skills and versatile playing style, adapting from an offensive player to a defensive specialist over his career.
