Roy Halladay

Roy Halladay played 16 seasons in Major League Baseball for the Toronto Blue Jays and Philadelphia Phillies. With a 203-105 win-loss record, an earned run average (ERA) of 3.38, and 2117 strikeouts, he was a dominant force on the mound.

Halladay won the Cy Young Award twice, was an 8-time All-Star, and achieved the remarkable feat of throwing a perfect game and a no-hitter in the same season (2010).

Injuries cut his career short in 2013, and he tragically died in a plane crash in 2017. He was posthumously inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2019.

Jose Bautista, who played from 2004 to 2018, is best known for his time as an outfielder with the Toronto Blue Jays. However, he also played for the Pirates, Royals, Mets, Rays, Phillies, Braves and Orioles.

Bautista was a prolific power hitter, amassing over 1496 hits and 344 home runs in his career. He was a six-time All-Star and won three Silver Slugger Awards (all with Blue Jays). His breakout season came in 2010 when he led the major leagues with 54 home runs.

His dramatic bat flip in the 2015 playoffs is one of the most iconic moments in Blue Jays history.

Scott Rolen, who played from 1996 to 2012, is best known for his time as a third baseman with the Phillies, Cardinals and Reds. (He also played about a season and a half with the Blue Jays)

Rolen was a dynamic player, known for his combination of power-hitting and stellar defense. He compiled over 2,000 hits, 316 home runs, and won eight Gold Glove Awards (Phillies, Cardinals, Reds).

Rolen was also Rookie of the Year in 1997 with the Phillies and made 7 All-Star appearances (Phillies, Cardinals, Reds)

His remarkable defensive abilities and consistent power at the plate earned him significant respect throughout his career and ultimately led to his induction into the Hall of Fame in 2023.

Jayson Werth

Jayson Werth is recognized for his significant contributions to the Los Angeles Dodgers, Philadelphia Phillies, and Washington Nationals. A versatile player, Werth mainly operated as a right fielder, but also had experience at left field and first base.

His MLB journey began with the Toronto Blue Jays, who drafted him in the first round of the 1997 draft. However, he made his major league debut with the Dodgers in 2002.

Werth retired in 2017 after a 15-season career. His career highlights include a batting average of .267, 229 home runs, and 799 RBIs. He played a key role in the Phillies’ 2008 World Series victory and was also an All-Star in 2009 (Phillies).

Benito Santiago

As a young catcher growing up, I remember seeing Benito Santiago throwing players out from his knees and thought it was the coolest thing ever and something I remember imitating in Little League games.

But, that’s not what matters here. What matters is that 5 time All-Star Benito Santiago played for 9 different teams throughout this 20 year career which makes him an absolute force on the Immaculate Grid.

Santiago played for Padres, Giants, Reds, (Florida) Marlins, Blue Jays, Royals, Pirates, Phillies and Cubs.

Brad Hand

Brad Hand was selected by the Florida Marlins in the second round of the 2008 MLB Draft. He is a relief pitcher known for his quality fastball-slider combination.

Throughout his career, Hand has received several honors, including three All-Star selections in 2017, 2018, and 2019. He has also been among the league leaders in saves multiple times.

Hand has played for 9 different teams in his 13-year career (6 just in the last three seasons) including the Marlins, Padres, Indians, Nationals, Mets, Blue Jays, Phillies, Rockies and Braves.

Matt Stairs

Matt Stairs had a lengthy Major League career that spanned from 1992 to 2011, during which he played for 12 different teams, essentially making him an Immaculate Grid Hall-of-Famer.

Known for his power-hitting abilities, primarily as a pinch-hitter, he hit 265 home runs over his career and holds the record for the most pinch-hit home runs in MLB history with 23. Stairs had a career batting average of .262 with an OPS of .832, and recorded 899 RBIs.

Notably, in the 2008 postseason with the Philadelphia Phillies, he hit one of the most famous home runs in Phillies history, helping the team move onto the World Series that year.

Mickey Morandini

Mickey Morandini played from 1990 to 2000 – mostly with the Phillies, but also with the Cubs and Blue Jays. Morandini was a solid player, known for his glove work and consistent performance at the plate.

He was selected once for the All-Star Game, in 1995 with the Phillies. Morandini is also remembered for his unassisted triple play in 1992, a rarity in the game.
