Baseball Players who Played for Brewers and Yankees

There is a good chance that if you’ve found this page then you’re playing the Immaculate Grid.

That also means that today’s grid has asked for players that have played for both the Milwaukee Brewers and New York Yankees.

And, it also means that you’re probably stuck on this particular box and you’re looking for a little help. Sound about right so far?

Well, good news, you’re in the right place.

I’ve done some research and have found 3 players who played for both the Brewers and the Yankees.

Popular Choices

Guys in this tier are likely to be popular picks because of the impact they made on both teams and/or how recently they’ve played in both uniforms.

CC Sabathia

CC Sabathia, who pitched from 2001 to 2019, is best known for his time with the Cleveland Indians (now Guardians) and New York Yankees.

Over his 19-season career, Sabathia tallied 251 wins, posted a 3.74 ERA, and struck out more than 3000 batters. He was named an All-Star six times (Cleveland, New York) and won the AL Cy Young award in 2007 with Cleveland.

Sabathia also played a key role in the Yankees’ 2009 World Series championship.

*Sabathia was previously the most popular pick for this square (Grid 107).

Gary Sheffield

Gary Sheffield was a beast on the baseball field and is a beast on the Immaculate Grid. He played from 1988 to 2009, suiting up for eight different teams – Marlins, Dodgers, Brewers, Yankees, Braves, Padres, Tigers and Mets.

Sheffield helped the Marlins snag a World Series Championship in ’97. Over his career, he cranked out 509 home runs (one of 28 players who hit over 500) and had a solid .292 batting average.

Sheffield was a nine-time All-Star, but his multiple stops along his career are what makes him really stand out for this particular game.

Rare Choices

The following players are generally well-remembered in one of the uniforms but not necessarily both.

Richie Sexson

Richie Sexson was a big-hitting first baseman in baseball from 1997 to 2008, playing for the Brewers, Mariners, Diamondbacks, Indians (now Guardians), and Yankees.

Standing at 6’8″, Sexson was an intimidating presence at the plate and cranked over 300 home runs during his career with a single-season best of 45 in both 2001 and 2003 with the Brewers. He was a two-time All-Star and known for hitting some of the longest homers in the game.
