Baseball Players who Played for Marlins and Yankees

Gary Sheffield
Gary Sheffield was a beast on the baseball field and is a beast on the Immaculate Grid. He played from 1988 to 2009, suiting up for eight different teams – Marlins, Dodgers, Brewers, Yankees, Braves, Padres, Tigers and Mets.
Sheffield helped the Marlins snag a World Series Championship in ’97. Over his career, he cranked out 509 home runs (one of 28 players who hit over 500) and had a solid .292 batting average.
Sheffield was a nine-time All-Star, but his multiple stops along his career are what makes him really stand out for this particular game.
Ichiro Suzuki
Ichiro Suzuki, who played from 2001 to 2019, is most celebrated for his time as an outfielder with the Seattle Mariners and Miami Marlins.
One of the most successful Japanese players in MLB history, Ichiro accumulated over 3000 hits in the MLB, along with nearly 1300 hits in Japan’s professional league. He maintained a .311 career batting average in the MLB.
Ichiro was a 10-time All-Star, 10-time Gold Glove winner, and 2001 AL MVP (all with Mariners). His rookie year was one of a kind, as he led the league in batting average (.350) and stolen bases (56), earning him both the Rookie of the Year and MVP awards.
Ivan Rodriguez
Ivan Rodriguez, also known as “Pudge”, was a beast in baseball from 1991 to 2011. He played for 6 different teams over his career including the Rangers, Tigers, Nationals, Yankees, Astros and Marlins. Rodriguez was a key player in the Marlins’ 2003 World Series win.
He chalked up over 2,800 hits, and hit over 300 home runs in his career with a single-season best 35 home runs in 1999 – his MVP year. Rodriguez made the All-Star team 14 times and won an impressive 13 Gold Gloves for his standout defensive skills.
Inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2017, Pudge is often considered one of the best catchers the game has ever seen.

Carl Pavano, a right-handed pitcher who started his career in 1998, had a somewhat uneven MLB journey, punctuated by moments of brilliance. He notably shone with the Florida Marlins in 2004 (his lone All-Star appearance), securing 18 wins with an impressive 3.00 ERA.
Over his career, he racked up 108 wins and 1091 strikeouts while maintaining a 4.39 ERA. Pavano played for the Montreal Expos, New York Yankees, Cleveland Indians, and Minnesota Twins, displaying admirable resilience in the face of recurrent injuries.
