Baseball Players who Played for Rockies and Tigers

There is a good chance that if you’ve found this page then you’re playing the Immaculate Grid.

That also means that today’s grid has asked for players that have played for both the Colorado Rockies and Detroit Tigers.

And, it also means that you’re probably stuck on this particular box and you’re looking for a little help. Sound about right so far?

Well, good news, you’re in the right place.

I’ve done some research and have found players who played on both the Rockies and the Tigers.

Popular Choices

Guys in this tier are likely to be popular picks because of a combination of the impact they made on both teams and/or how recently they’ve played for both the Rockies and Tigers.

C.J. Cron

C.J. Cron is in his 10th season in the majors, coming off his first All-Star appearance as a first baseman with the Rockies in 2022.

Cron has bounced around quite a bit in his career, playing for 5 different clubs in 10 years including the Dodgers, Rockies, Twins, Rays and Tigers. Cron will likely be a popular choice here because of how recently he’s played for both teams – the Tigers in 2020 and currently with the Rockies.

*Cron has previously been the most popular pick in this square twice (Grid 95 & 102).

Rare Choices

Rare choices are players that are generally well-remembered with one of the teams but not necessarily both.

Neifi Perez, who played from 1996 to 2007, is best remembered for his time as an infielder with the Colorado Rockies.

Throughout his 12-season career, Perez collected over 1300 hits, 64 home runs, and maintained a .267 career batting average.

Perez was awarded the Gold Glove for his defense at shortstop in 2000 with the Rockies. His best season at the plate came in 1999, when he hit .280 and led the majors with 11 triples.

Kevin Ritz

Kevin Ritz, who played from 1988 to 1998, is best known for his time as a pitcher with the Detroit Tigers and Colorado Rockies. Ritz was a solid pitcher in the majors, recording 45 wins and over 450 strikeouts in his career.

His best season came in 1996 with the Rockies when he posted a 17-11 record, becoming the first pitcher in Rockies history to win 17 games in a season. He was also a part of the first Rockies team to make the playoffs in 1995.
