Pro Golfers from Pennsylvania

Current Pro Men’s Golfers from Pennsylvania (PGA 2023)

Golfers, and athletes of all sports really, take pride in where they’re from. Whether it’s the state, city or area code – you always notice players wanting to rep their home area.

The whole Ryder Cup is basically built on the principle of competing and representing where you’re from.

Fans tend to do the same thing. It’s always more fun to pull for a player when they’re from your home state (or even your hometown).

With all that in mind, we went through the World Golf Rankings and pulled the home states (or countries) of every player in the top 200 (as of 5/19/23).

28 of the 50 states in the US have at least one player representing them in that top 200.

One of those 28 states is Pennsylvania which has a lone representative in the top 200.

Here is the golfer from Pennsylvania in the World Golf Rankings top 200 in the spring of 2023 including what town they’re from.

About the Players

Brendon Todd

Brendon Todd turned professional in 2007 and has played on the PGA Tour and the Korn Ferry Tour (formerly the Web.com Tour).

He earned his first PGA Tour victory at the 2014 Byron Nelson Championship. However, shortly thereafter, Todd experienced a career-threatening slump, often referred to as the “yips,” where he missed 37 cuts in 41 starts between 2016 to 2019 due to struggles with his swing.

Defying the odds, Todd made a remarkable turnaround, earning back his PGA Tour card via the Korn Ferry Tour and winning twice in the fall portion of the 2019-2020 PGA Tour season.

These victories at the Bermuda Championship and the Mayakoba Golf Classic not only marked a return to form but also propelled him into the world’s top 50, securing invitations to the majors and World Golf Championship events.
