I’ve done some research and have found players who played on both the Chargers and Panthers.

Mike Tolbert

Mike Tolbert was an undrafted free agent who signed with the San Diego Chargers in 2008. Primarily utilized as a fullback, he played for the Chargers, Carolina Panthers, and Buffalo Bills during his 10-year NFL career.

A three-time Pro Bowler and two-time First-Team All-Pro (2013, 2015), Tolbert was an essential piece in both rushing and blocking schemes. His career totals include 2,649 rushing yards, 1,861 receiving yards, and 46 total touchdowns.

Tolbert’s versatility and effectiveness in various offensive roles made him a valuable asset to his teams, especially during his time with the Carolina Panthers, where he played a crucial role in the team’s Super Bowl 50 appearance.

Natrone Means

Natrone Means was selected by the San Diego Chargers as the 41st overall pick in the second round of the 1993 NFL Draft. He played as a running back in the NFL, primarily with the Chargers but also with the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Carolina Panthers.

Means had his best season in 1994, earning a Pro Bowl selection and helping lead the Chargers to Super Bowl XXIX. That year, he rushed for 1,350 yards and 12 touchdowns. Over his career, Means totaled 5,215 rushing yards and 45 rushing touchdowns.

Means was known for his bruising running style, where he combined power with a knack for finding openings on the field. He was particularly skilled in short-yardage and goal-line scenarios, and his standout performances, especially during the Chargers’ memorable 1994 Super Bowl run, made him a cherished figure in the franchise’s history.

Eric Metcalf

Eric Metcalf was selected as the 13th overall pick in the 1989 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns. He played in the NFL for 13 seasons, with stints at 7 different teams including the Browns, Falcons, Chargers, Cardinals, Panthers, Redskins, and Packers.

Metcalf was primarily utilized as a return specialist and running back. His versatility and speed made him a significant threat in special teams. Over his career, he recorded almost 8,000 rushing and receiving yards, but his most remarkable achievements came as a return specialist, where he scored 12 return touchdowns.

He was named to three Pro Bowls and earned two 1st Team All-Pro selections. His ability to change games with his special teams play made him one of the most exciting players to watch during his career.

Trai Turner

Trai Turner was selected in the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers. He played college football at LSU before making the jump to the pros. Turner quickly established himself as a reliable presence on the offensive line and became one of the better guards in the league during his time with the Panthers.

He spent six seasons with the Panthers and made five consecutive Pro Bowl appearances from 2015 to 2019. In 2020, he was traded to the Los Angeles Chargers, where he played for one season followed by a season with the Steelers and then Commanders.

During his time in Carolina, Turner was a key component of a Panthers offense that made it to the Super Bowl in the 2015 season, although they ultimately lost to the Denver Broncos.
