Football Players who Played for Eagles and Cowboys

There is a good chance that if you’ve found this page then you’re playing the Immaculate Grid.

That also means that today’s grid has asked for players that have played for both the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys.

And, it also means that you’re probably stuck on this particular box and you’re looking for a little help. Sound about right so far?

Well, good news, you’re in the right place.

I’ve done some research and have found players who played for both the Eagles and Cowboys.

Terrell Owens

Terrell Owens, often known by his initials, T.O., was one of the most dynamic and controversial wide receivers in NFL history. Selected in the third round of the 1996 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers, Owens played for five teams over his 15-year career.

He earned six Pro Bowl selections, was a five-time First-Team All-Pro, and led the league in receiving touchdowns three times. His 153 receiving touchdowns rank third in NFL history, and his 15934 receiving yards rank third as well.

Despite these impressive numbers and his significant impact on the game, Owens had to wait until his third year of eligibility before being inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2018.

Randall Cunningham

Randall Cunningham was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2nd round of the 1985 NFL Draft, out of UNLV. With the Eagles, he was known for his elusive running ability and was a frequent contender for Pro Bowl selections.

In 1998, he had a career resurgence with the Minnesota Vikings, leading a high-powered offense that set the record at the time for most points scored in a season. That year, Cunningham was named First Team All-Pro and won the Bert Bell Award for the Player of the Year.

He retired after the 2001 season, after a season each at the Dallas Cowboys and Baltimore Ravens. Cunningham was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2016.

Cunningham Key Stats

  • 1st Team All-Pro (Vikings)
  • Pro Bowl (Eagles, Vikings)
  • 3000+ Yard Passing Season (Eagles, Vikings)

Mark Sanchez

Mark Sanchez is most well-known for his time with the New York Jets. Drafted 5th overall by the Jets in 2009, Sanchez started in his rookie season and led the Jets to two consecutive AFC Championship Games in 2009 and 2010.

Despite early success, Sanchez’s performance fluctuated in the following seasons, with his tenure in New York ending after the 2013 season. Sanchez then had stints with the Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, and Washington Redskins, but never regained a full-time starting role.

Over his career, Sanchez passed for 15,357 yards, 86 touchdowns, and 89 interceptions. His best season was likely 2011 when he threw for 3474 yards and 26 touchdowns with the Jets.

Rodney Peete

Rodney Peete is a former quarterback who had a long career in the NFL. He was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the 6th round of the 1989 NFL Draft.

Peete played for the Lions from 1989 to 1993 and would go on to play for several other NFL teams including the Cowboys, Eagles, Redskins, Raiders, and Panthers. Over the course of his career, Peete threw for more than 16,000 yards and 76 touchdowns.

While he never made it to a Pro Bowl, Peete was a reliable starter for several years, particularly during his time with the Lions. His longevity in the league is a rarity for a player who was not a high draft pick.
