That also means that today’s grid has asked for players that have played for both the New England Patriots and Cleveland Browns.

And, it also means that you’re probably stuck on this particular box and you’re looking for a little help. Sound about right so far?

Well, good news, you’re in the right place.

I’ve done some research and have found players who played for both the Patriots and the Browns.

Jacoby Brissett

Jacoby Brissett was drafted by the New England Patriots in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft. Brissett got his first chance to start after Tom Brady’s suspension and Jimmy Garoppolo’s injury in the 2016 season. Despite mixed results, he showcased his potential as a future starting quarterback.

Brissett’s real opportunity came when he was traded to the Indianapolis Colts in 2017. When starting QB Andrew Luck was sidelined due to injury, Brissett took over, starting 15 games that season. He showed promise, throwing for over 3,000 yards and 13 touchdowns.

In 2019, following Luck’s sudden retirement, Brissett was once again thrust into the starting role. He started 15 games, throwing for almost 3,000 yards and 18 touchdowns. Most recently, Brissett started 11 games for the Browns last year, throwing for over 2,600 yards and 12 touchdowns.

To date, Collins has accumulated 26.5 sacks, 12 interceptions, 19 forced fumbles and has 2 defensive touchdowns.

Brian Hoyer

Brian Hoyer is a veteran quarterback who has primarily been a backup with multiple NFL teams. He entered the league undrafted in 2009 and signed with the New England Patriots, backing up Tom Brady and earning a Super Bowl ring with the team in Super Bowl XLIX.

Hoyer has also started for several teams, including the Cleveland Browns (his lone 3000+ Yard Passing Season was there), Houston Texans, Chicago Bears, and San Francisco 49ers, with career passing stats including over 10,000 yards, 53 touchdowns, and a passer rating in the mid-80s.

Selected as the first overall pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1987, Testaverde played for seven teams, with his longest tenures at Tampa Bay and the New York Jets.

Despite a rocky start with the Buccaneers, Testaverde went on to throw for over 46,000 yards and 275 touchdowns in his career, making two Pro Bowl appearances. He led the Jets to the AFC Championship game in the 1998 season.

He holds the NFL record for throwing touchdowns to 70 different players, a testament to his lengthy career and adaptability. Testaverde retired in 2007, wrapping up one of the longest careers for a quarterback in NFL history.
