Well, good news, you’re in the right place.

I’ve done some research and have found players who played for both the Patriots and the Chargers.

Wes Welker

Wes Welker is widely known for his productive stint with the New England Patriots from 2007 to 2012. His quickness and ability to read defenses made him an ideal slot receiver, resulting in five Pro Bowl selections.

Welker led the NFL in receptions three times during his career, 2007, 2009, and 2011, and became the first receiver in NFL history with five 110-catch seasons. He later joined the Denver Broncos, reaching another Super Bowl, but unfortunately didn’t secure a championship.

He ended his 12-year career with 903 receptions, 9924 receiving yards, and 50 touchdowns.

Marion Butts was a notable running back in the NFL known for his size and power. He played for the San Diego Chargers from 1989 to 1993, where he earned Pro Bowl honors in 1990 and 1991 and became a fan favorite for his punishing running style.

Butts’ best season was probably 1990 when he ran for 1225 rushing yards and 8 touchdowns.

After his time with the Chargers, Butts spent two seasons with the New England Patriots and one with the Miami Dolphins before retiring. His career totals include 5185 rushing yards and 44 total touchdowns.

Doug Flutie

Doug Flutie is recognized for his exceptional college football career and his time in the NFL and Canadian Football League (CFL). At Boston College, Flutie won the Heisman Trophy in 1984, particularly remembered for his ‘Hail Mary’ touchdown pass in a game against Miami.

Despite concerns about his height (5’10”), Flutie had a professional career that spanned over two decades. In the NFL, he played for the Chicago Bears, New England Patriots, Buffalo Bills, and San Diego Chargers.

His most successful years came with the Bills where he was named to the Pro Bowl. In the CFL, Flutie became a legend, winning three Grey Cups and being named the league’s Most Outstanding Player six times.

David Richards

David Richards was selected in the 4th round, 99th overall, by the San Diego Chargers in the 1988 NFL Draft. Richards spent a total of 9 seasons in the league, playing for multiple teams including the Chargers, Atlanta Falcons, Dallas Cowboys and New England Patriots.

During his career, Richards started 128 games including all 16 games in each of the 5 seasons he played in San Diego.

While not achieving any major individual awards, he contributed to the success of the offenses he was part of, particularly in the running game. His experience in the league, playing at both guard and tackle positions, allowed him to provide stability and versatility to the teams he played for.
