There is a good chance that if you’ve found this page then you’re playing the Immaculate Grid.

That also means that today’s grid has asked for players who have played for both the Los Angeles Rams and Dallas Cowboys.

And, it also means that you’re probably stuck on this particular box and you’re looking for a little help. Sound about right so far?

Well, good news, you’re in the right place.

I’ve done some research and have found players who played for both the Rams and Cowboys.

Dexter Coakley

Dexter Coakley was drafted in the third round, 65th overall, by the Dallas Cowboys in the 1997 NFL Draft. Before turning pro, he had a decorated college football career at App State, where he was a two-time Buck Buchanan Award winner, an award given annually to the best defensive player in the Division I FCS.

In the NFL, Coakley quickly became a vital part of the Cowboys’ defense, earning three Pro Bowl selections (2001, 2003, 2004) and even scoring a few defensive touchdowns. He was known for his quickness and ability to read plays efficiently, qualities that allowed him to have a productive career with the Cowboys for 8 seasons.

After his time with the Cowboys, he played for the St. Louis Rams for two seasons, continuing to be a productive player though not reaching the same heights as he did while with the Cowboys.

Tavon Austin

Tavon Austin was a versatile football player who was drafted eighth overall by the St. Louis Rams in the 2013 NFL Draft following an excellent college football career at West Virginia where he was known for his speed and agility.

During his NFL career, he played primarily as a wide receiver but has also contributed significantly as a running back and a return specialist, showcasing his versatility. After playing for the Rams both in St. Louis and later in Los Angeles, he moved to the Dallas Cowboys for two seasons.

Following the Cowboys, he played briefly for the San Francisco 49ers in 2020, though he didn’t officially play a game for them due to being placed on the injured reserve list, and later joined the Green Bay Packers the same year. In 2021, he signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Steve Walsh

Steve Walsh is perhaps primarily known for his time as a backup quarterback in the ’90s. Walsh had his college career at the University of Miami, where he led the Hurricanes to a national championship in 1987.

In the 1989 NFL Supplemental Draft, he was selected by the Dallas Cowboys. He had a mixed tenure at Dallas and was eventually traded to the New Orleans Saints in 1990. He also had stints with the Chicago Bears, St. Louis Rams, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

His NFL career spanned 11 years (1989-1999), during which he passed for 7875 yards and 40 touchdowns.
