I’ve already done the research and have put together a list of well-known stars along with some more “under-the-radar” players that could land you a low rarity score.
Jan Hrdina
Jan Hrdina was selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the fifth round, 128th overall, in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft. Born in Czechoslovakia, Hrdina played a solid and dependable two-way game.
He spent the majority of his NHL career with the Penguins, where he consistently contributed as a playmaker and penalty-killer. He also had stints with the New York Rangers and Columbus Blue Jackets. Hrdina’s most productive season came in the 2001-2002 campaign when he recorded 57 points for the Penguins.
After his NHL career, Hrdina continued his professional career in Europe, playing in various leagues, including the Swiss National League and Czech Extraliga. His NHL career totals included 297 points in 513 regular-season games.
Thomas Griess
Thomas Greiss was selected by the San Jose Sharks in the third round, 94th overall, in the 2004 NHL Draft. He spent his early career as a backup goaltender for the Sharks, establishing himself as a reliable option in net. After his time in San Jose, Greiss played for the Coyotes and the Penguins.
In 2015, Greiss signed with the New York Islanders, where he took on a more prominent role. He helped lead the team to the playoffs and became known for his calm demeanor and consistent play. Greiss later joined the Detroit Red Wings, continuing his career as a valuable veteran presence in the net.
Throughout his time in the NHL, Greiss is well-known for his technical proficiency and poise, providing steady goaltending for the teams he has played for. His career statistics reflect this, with a save percentage typically hovering around the .910 mark.
Phil Kessel
Phil Kessel was selected 5th overall by the Boston Bruins in the 2006 NHL Draft. Known for his offensive prowess, Kessel quickly became one of the league’s top goal-scorers. He played three seasons with the Bruins before being traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
In 2015, Kessel was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins, where he became a key part of the team’s success, winning back-to-back Stanley Cup championships in 2016 and 2017. Kessel’s speed, skill, and ability to perform in high-pressure situations were crucial to the Penguins’ playoff runs.

Alex Galchenyuk
Alex Galchenyuk was selected 3rd overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. During his NHL career, Galchenyuk has played for several teams, including the Canadiens, Coyotes, Penguins, Wild, Senators, and Maple Leafs.
To date, Galchenyuk has scored 146 goals, 208 assists, and 354 points. He’s known for his skilled play, puck-handling, and scoring ability but has struggled with consistency at times.
He has also represented the United States in international competitions, earning a gold medal at the 2013 World Junior Championships.
