Hockey Players who Played for Kraken and Hurricanes

If I’m right, that also means that today’s grid is asking for players who have played for both the Seattle Kraken and the Carolina Hurricanes.

I’ve already done the research and have put together a list of well-known stars along with some more “under-the-radar” players that could land you a low rarity score.

Victor Rask

Victor Rask is a Swedish center who has played for the Hurricanes, Wild, and Kraken in the NHL, and is currently with SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers of the National League (NL). Rask started his career in Sweden with Leksands IF before being drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes in the second round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

Rask made his NHL debut with the Hurricanes in the 2014-15 season, scoring 11 goals and 22 assists through 80 games. He was traded to the Minnesota Wild in 2019 and later to the Seattle Kraken in 2022. After his stint in the NHL, Rask returned to Europe, signing with HC Fribourg-Gottéron of the NL in 2022.

Over his NHL career, Rask played 506 games, scoring 89 goals and 134 assists for a total of 223 points​​.

Haydn Fleury

Haydn Fleury is a Canadian defenseman currently playing for the Tampa Bay Lightning in the NHL. Drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes seventh overall in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, Fleury’s career has included stints with the Hurricanes, Anaheim Ducks, Seattle Kraken, and now the Lightning​​.

He began his NHL career with the Hurricanes in the 2017-18 season, where he earned his first NHL points against the Toronto Maple Leafs​​. He was re-signed by the Hurricanes in 2019 but was later traded to the Ducks in 2021. Fleury was then selected by the Kraken in the 2021 NHL Expansion Draft before signing with the Lightning in 2022​​​​.

His career statistics (as of this writing) include 244 NHL regular season games, with 9 goals and 23 assists. Internationally, he has represented Canada at the World U-17 Hockey Challenge in 2013, the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament in 2013, and the IIHF World U18 Championship in 2014, where he won a bronze medal​​​​.
