Baseball Players who Played for Phillies and Angels

There is a good chance that if you’ve found this page then you’re playing the Immaculate Grid.

That also means that today’s grid has asked for players that have played for both the Philadelphia Phillies and Los Angeles Angels.

And, it also means that you’re probably stuck on this particular box and you’re looking for a little help. Sound about right so far?

Well, good news, you’re in the right place.

I’ve done some research and have found players who played for both the Phillies and the Angels.

Bobby Abreu

Bobby Abreu, who played from 1996 to 2014, is most recognized for his time as an outfielder with the Philadelphia Phillies and New York Yankees.

Abreu had a productive career, collecting over 2400 hits, 288 home runs, and a .291 career batting average. He also amassed 400 stolen bases, making him one of only a few players to reach the 200-400 club in home runs and steals.

A two-time All-Star, Abreu won a Gold Glove and a Silver Slugger Award (all awards with the Phillies), demonstrating his balanced skill set. His best season might have been 2004, when he hit .301 with 30 home runs, 105 RBIs, and 40 stolen bases.

Ron Gant

Ron Gant played from 1987 to 2003 and is probably best remembered for his time with the Braves and Reds. However, Gant played for 8 teams over his 16-year career making him an extremely versatile Immaculate Grid player.

Gant brought a dynamic mix of power and speed to the game, hitting over 300 home runs and stealing more than 240 bases during his career. In 1993, Gant hit a career-high 36 home runs and drove in 117 RBIs while finishing 5th in MVP voting.

Gant was a two-time All-Star and his 30-30 seasons (30 home runs and 30 stolen bases) in 1990 and 1991 were also high points in his career. After a devastating motorcycle accident before the 1994 season, Gant made an impressive comeback, proving his resilience and further endearing him to fans.

Jean Segura

Jean Segura started his MLB career with the Los Angeles Angels in 2012 before being traded to the Milwaukee Brewers. Segura has also played for the Arizona Diamondbacks, Seattle Mariners, Philadelphia Phillies and is currently playing with the Miami Marlins.

With a career batting average over .280, Segura has demonstrated consistent hitting throughout his career. His speed has also been a significant factor in his game, having stolen 20 or more bases multiple times in his career.

Segura earned an All-Star selection in 2013 with the Brewers and again in 2018 with the Mariners.

Rarity Score Alert: Most baseball fans probably still remember Segura in a Phillies uniform, but he played in only 1 game as an Angel before being traded.

Segura Key Stats

  • All-Star (Brewers, Mariners)
  • 200+ Hit Season (Diamondbacks)
  • 40+ Stolen Base Season (Brewers)
