I’ve done some research and have found players who played for both the Mavericks and the Knicks.
Tyson Chandler
Tyson Chandler was renowned for his rebounding and defensive skills. Drafted straight out of high school as the second overall pick by the Los Angeles Clippers in the 2001 NBA draft, Chandler was immediately traded to the Chicago Bulls, where he spent his first five seasons.
He moved to the Dallas Mavericks in 2010, where he won the NBA Championship in 2011. His exceptional performance earned him the NBA Defensive Player of the Year award the following season.
Throughout his career, Chandler played for several NBA teams (8 in total) including the Knicks, Suns, Lakers and Rockets. Known for his tenacity on defense and ability to protect the rim, he also had significant success on the international stage, winning a gold medal with Team USA in the 2012 London Olympics.

Kristaps Porzingis
Kristaps Porzingis began his NBA career with the New York Knicks after being selected as the 4th overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft. He quickly made an impact, earning NBA All-Rookie First Team honors and displaying a unique blend of outside shooting and interior presence.
In his time with the Knicks, Porzingis was named an NBA All-Star in 2018 and became the face of the franchise. However, his tenure in New York was marred by injuries, including a significant ACL tear that sidelined him for an extended period.
In 2019, Porzingis was traded to the Dallas Mavericks, where he formed a dynamic duo with Luka Doncic. However, after just a little over two seasons in Dallas Porzingis found himself traded again, this time to the Wizards.

Derek Harper
Derek Harper is primarily remembered for his time with the Dallas Mavericks, where he showcased his abilities as a point guard with strong scoring and facilitating skills. Harper spent a decade with the Mavericks from 1983 to 1994.
In 1994, Harper was traded to the Knicks, where he provided essential veteran leadership and helped the team reach the NBA Finals that same year. His robust defense and clutch scoring were integral to the Knicks’ successful playoff run. After his time with the Knicks, Harper had stints with the Magic and Lakers before retiring in 1999.
Throughout his career, he was known for his on-court intelligence, defensive prowess, and scoring ability, ending his career with more than 16,000 points and 6,500 assists.

Amar’e Stoudemire
Amar’e Stoudemire was selected 9th overall in the 2002 NBA Draft by the Suns, and he made an immediate impact, earning the NBA Rookie of the Year award. Standing 6’10”, Stoudemire was known for his athleticism, scoring ability, and explosive dunks.
With the Suns, he was part of a high-octane offense run by point guard Steve Nash. During his time there, he was named an NBA All-Star six times and helped lead the Suns to the Western Conference Finals in 2005 and 2010.
In 2010, Stoudemire signed with the New York Knicks, where he continued his All-Star performances. However, unfortunately, his time with the Knicks was marred by persistent injuries.

DeAndre Jordan
DeAndre Jordan, an NBA center, is best known for his incredible defensive presence and elite rebounding skills. After playing one season at Texas A&M, he was selected in the second round of the 2008 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Clippers.
During his tenure with the Clippers, Jordan, alongside Chris Paul and Blake Griffin, formed a core trio famously known as “Lob City,” renowned for their high-flying alley-oops and fast-paced gameplay. Over the years, Jordan has led the league in rebounding multiple times and earned NBA All-Defensive Team honors.
In addition to the Clippers, he has played for the Mavericks, Nets, Lakers, 76ers and Nuggets. His career has been marked by consistent rim protection, rebounding prowess, and high field goal percentage, mainly from his dunks and close-range shots.

Nerlens Noel
Nerlens Noel was selected as the 6th overall pick by the New Orleans Pelicans in the 2013 NBA Draft and was later traded to the Philadelphia 76ers on draft night.
Noel has been primarily known for his defensive abilities, particularly as a shot-blocker.
He led the NBA in block percentage during his rookie season and has consistently ranked among the league leaders in blocks. He has also been an effective rebounder and has contributed on the offensive end as well, but it’s his defensive presence that has been his calling card in the NBA.
David Lee
David Lee was selected with the 30th overall pick in the 2005 NBA Draft by the New York Knicks. Lee was known for his strong rebounding and scoring ability, making him a double-double threat on any given night.
In the 2009-10 season, he was selected for his first All-Star game while playing for the Knicks, after averaging 20.2 points and 11.7 rebounds per game.
In 2010, Lee was traded to the Warriors. He continued to produce strong performances and was again named an All-Star in 2013. However, Lee’s biggest accomplishment came during the 2014-15 season, when the Warriors won the NBA Championship, although his role was reduced due to the emergence of Draymond Green.

Kemba Walker
After playing college basketball for the University of Connecticut, where he won a national championship in 2011 and was named Most Outstanding Player of the Final Four, Kemba Walker was selected ninth overall by the Charlotte Bobcats (now Hornets) in the 2011 NBA Draft.
Walker emerged as the face of the Charlotte franchise, making three All-Star appearances during his time with the team. He holds numerous franchise records for the Hornets, including most points in a game (60) and most points scored in franchise history.
In 2019, he signed with the Boston Celtics, making another All-Star appearance in his first season with the team.

Wesley Matthews
Undrafted out of Marquette University in 2009, Wesley Matthews earned a roster spot with the Utah Jazz, making an immediate impact with his play. After a successful stint in Utah, he signed with the Portland Trail Blazers where he solidified his reputation as one of the league’s best 3-and-D players.
He became a critical piece of the Blazers’ backcourt alongside Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum, particularly excelling in 3-point shooting. Matthews ruptured his Achilles tendon in 2015, a significant setback, but returned to play for the Mavericks and has since bounced around with different teams.
Despite the various team changes, his consistency as a shooter and defender has remained, offering valuable contributions in the regular season and playoffs.
Keith Van Horn
Keith Van Horn emerged as one of the premier college basketball players during his time at the University of Utah, leading his team to the NCAA Championship game in 1998.
Recognized for his size and shooting ability, he was selected as the second overall pick in the 1997 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers, though he was promptly traded to the New Jersey Nets.
During his professional career, Van Horn made a significant impact with the Nets, averaging over 19 points per game in his first two seasons. He played for several NBA teams, including the 76ers, Knicks, Bucks, and Mavericks. With the Mavs, Van Horn played a role in their deep playoff run, reaching the NBA Finals in 2006.

Doug McDermott
Doug McDermott was a player known for his shooting accuracy. He was selected 11th overall in the 2014 NBA Draft by the Denver Nuggets, but was quickly traded to the Chicago Bulls.
His draft selection came after an impressive college career at Creighton University, where he was a three-time consensus first-team All-American and won the National Player of the Year award in his senior season.
