Joe Thornton
Joe Thornton was selected first overall by the Boston Bruins in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft. While he displayed immense potential during his tenure in Boston, it was following a trade to the San Jose Sharks in 2005 that he truly established himself as an elite player.
In his first season with the Sharks, Thornton won the Art Ross Trophy as the league’s top scorer and the Hart Memorial Trophy as the NHL’s most valuable player. For over a decade, Thornton set numerous franchise records and led the team to consistent playoff appearances, including a trip to the Stanley Cup Finals in 2016.
In the later stages of his career, he had stints with the Maple Leafs and the Panthers, demonstrating his desire to chase the elusive Stanley Cup. Thornton’s career is decorated with multiple All-Star Game appearances, and he ranks among the highest in all-time NHL assists.

Bill Guerin
Bill Guerin was selected 5th overall by the New Jersey Devils in the 1989 NHL Entry Draft. He became an instrumental player for the Devils, and his time there culminated in a Stanley Cup championship in 1995.
His NHL journey took him to several teams, including the Edmonton Oilers, Boston Bruins, Dallas Stars, St. Louis Blues, San Jose Sharks, New York Islanders, and the Pittsburgh Penguins. With the Penguins in 2009, Guerin added a second Stanley Cup to his list of achievements.
Internationally, Guerin represented the United States multiple times, most notably during the Winter Olympics. He was part of the team that secured the silver medal at the 2002 Salt Lake City Games.

Brad Boyes
Brad Boyes was drafted 24th overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut with the San Jose Sharks during the 2003-04 season after a trade. However, it was with the Boston Bruins and then the St. Louis Blues that Boyes found his stride.
In the 2007-08 season with the Blues, Boyes had his best offensive year, scoring 43 goals and adding 22 assists. His success in St. Louis continued the following season with a career-high 72 points.
After his time with the Blues, Boyes played for several other NHL teams, including the Buffalo Sabres, New York Islanders, Florida Panthers, and Toronto Maple Leafs. He continued to be known for his shootout skills, and though his production declined in later years, he remained a valued veteran presence.

Ryan Donato
Ryan Donato is an American forward currently playing for the Chicago Blackhawks. Drafted by the Boston Bruins in the second round, 56th overall, in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, Donato began his NHL career with the Bruins in 2018 after a successful stint with Harvard University, where he led the team in scoring during the 2017-18 season.
Donato’s NHL journey has seen him play for several teams. He was traded to the Minnesota Wild in 2019. In 2020, Donato moved to the San Jose Sharks, following a trade for a third-round pick.
He then signed with the expansion team Seattle Kraken in 2021 as a free agent and made history by scoring the first goal in Kraken franchise history. After his time with the Kraken, Donato signed with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2023.
