There is a good chance that if you’ve found this page then you’re playing the Immaculate Grid.

That also means that today’s grid has asked for players that have played for both the Washington Nationals and Arizona Diamondbacks.

And, it also means that you’re probably stuck on this particular box and you’re looking for a little help. Sound about right so far?

Well, good news, you’re in the right place.

I’ve done some research and have found players who played on both the Nationals and the Diamondbacks.

Patrick Corbin

Known for his devastating slider, Patrick Corbin has proven himself to be one of the more reliable starting pitchers in the league when healthy. His breakout season came in 2013 when he posted a 14-8 record with a 3.41 ERA and earned his first All-Star selection.

In 2014, Corbin missed the entire season due to Tommy John surgery. However, he bounced back and by 2018, he was once again named an All-Star (also with Diamondbacks), this time with an impressive 3.15 ERA and 246 strikeouts in 200 innings.

After the 2018 season, Corbin signed a lucrative contract with the Washington Nationals. In his first season with the team, he helped lead the Nationals to their first World Series title in 2019.

Max Scherzer

Max Scherzer, known for his distinctive different-colored eyes, has been a force to reckon with in baseball since he started in 2008. He’s played for several teams, including the Diamondbacks, Tigers, Nationals, Dodgers and Mets.

Scherzer’s a three-time Cy Young Award winner and played a crucial role in the Nationals’ World Series win in 2019.

Scherzer is still active (as of 2023) and has over 3,000 strikeouts with a career-high of 300 in 2018 with the Nationals. Despite moving around a bit, Max has consistently been a top-tier pitcher in the majors.

Adam Eaton

Adam Eaton is an outfielder known for his high-energy play and efficient hitting. Starting his career with the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2012, he made a name for himself with the Chicago White Sox from 2014 to 2016, and later, the Washington Nationals where he played a crucial part in their 2019 World Series run.

In his career through the 2022 season, Eaton has hit for a solid batting average of around .280, an on-base percentage hovering near .360, and has over 65 home runs to his credit.

Eaton has twice led the league in triples (’14 & ’16) and he’s stolen more than 70 bases. He’s also proven himself to be a capable and versatile outfielder, primarily playing right field but also spending time in center and left.

Dan Haren

Dan Haren, an effective right-handed pitcher, played from 2003 to 2015 in the Major Leagues. He was a part of eight different organizations, with substantial time spent with the Oakland Athletics, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Los Angeles Angels.

A three-time All-Star (A’s, Diamondbacks), Haren had a career that featured both durability and consistency, pitching over 200 innings in seven separate seasons.

He had a career 153-131 win-loss record, a solid 3.75 ERA, and an impressive 2013 strikeouts. Known for his control, Haren consistently ranked among the league leaders in strikeout-to-walk ratio.
